  • Close the private shut-off valve
  • Turn off the water heater (gas to pilot, electric at the breaker) if the house is drained
  • Avoid wet electrical areas
  • Open faucets to drain remaining water

If you cannot shut it off

DWU says to call 3-1-1 for emergency turn-off at the meter (DWU).
