Who Can Perform Permitted Plumbing Work?

Licensing

The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (license lookup) licenses plumbers in Texas at several levels, including apprentice, tradesman, journeyman and master. Dallas permits are pulled by a Master Plumber registered with the City (DallasNow guide).

Homeowner work

A qualifying homeowner can obtain a permit for their own homestead and must meet the same code (City of Dallas).

Verify

Look the plumber up on the TSBPE site before work starts.
